How to Spend Your Day at Safety Harbor Resort & Spa

Consider yourself lucky if you have a day planned at Safety Harbor Resort & Spa. My aunt surprised me with a spa day here on Easter one year. After a fluke appointment at a small spa a few weeks prior, I was thankful for another chance to be pampered, this time at a much more high-class spa.

Spending a day at Safety Harbor Resort & Spa is made easy by the number of amenities available to guests. My pro tip is to purchase one service for yourself, which gives you access to all the amenities for the entire day! This was the cheapest way to have a day of pampering. Without further ado, read below to discover how to spend your day at Safety Harbor Resort & Spa.

A Day Trip to Safety Harbor Resort and Spa: What to Do

Check-In, Get Robe, Take a Morning Swim

One of my favorite parts of going to the spa is being able to prance around in a robe all day. Though it gave me a few stares from some families at the pool, I was giving off some main-character energy and loved every second of it. You’ll get keys to your own locker for the day, where you can safely store personal belongings. The locker rooms come equipped with bathrooms, showers, changing rooms, and hair dryers. After getting changed and settled in, take some time to explore the property.

Before the afternoon sun becomes too harsh and the pool area gets too crowded, claim your spot on a lounge chair at the outdoor pool. The bar opens at 11 am, and what better way to begin your spa day than with a piña colada in hand? Catch some rays or take a morning dip before continuing with the day’s activities.

Complimentary Lunch and Champagne

Along with the spa service you purchased, you’ll also be given complimentary lunch and a glass of champagne. I chose to eat my lunch outdoors at the Fountain Grille Restaurant. I enjoyed a splendid lunch here next to the fountain, as well as my glass of bubbly. Even though I was dining by myself, as it was a solo spa day, I enjoyed people-watching as guests kept pouring into the resort.

Indulge in a Spa Service

While I normally opt for a massage any time that I’m at a spa, this time I wanted to branch out and try something new. Being prompted by my skin as of late, I decided to have a facial for the day. Having never had one before, I was excited to see how my pores would be cleaned out and how refreshed it would make me.

The lady who gave me my facial was very conversational, kind, and funny. I had a great experience getting my facial done. Though a few of the extractions were more painful than I realized they would be, I left feeling refreshed and cleaned out. While my skin is in pretty good condition to start with, it still felt refreshing to be rid of some of the deep-seated contaminants and causes of build-up. Whatever spa service you decide on, you’ll be sure to be impressed.

Visit the Sauna and Steam Room

You might have to wait a certain amount of time after your spa service before going to the sauna and steam room, but these are not areas you’ll want to miss. Be aware that this area is clothing optional – I was not aware when I first entered and was a bit taken aback LOL. While I’m not someone who can stay in steam rooms or saunas for very long, I can still appreciate spending a few minutes in them. If you get too hot, there is a small indoor swimming pool right outside them to cool off in.

Finish Your Day at the Pool

If you still have time left, I recommend ending your day the way you started it – with a dip in the pool. Lounging poolside is a great way to end your day of being pampered. If you find yourself getting hungry again, you can order food from the pool bar. I ordered some nachos for myself, which ended up being a generous portion. You can choose to stay here until sunset if you please, just don’t forget to return your robe and keys to the desk before the spa closes.

I hope you have the most relaxing day at the spa and that this guide has prepared you for the amenities you can make use of there. We could all use a day of being pampered, and a day trip to the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa is a great way to do so.
