Wine Tours From Florence: 5 Options to Consider

Rather than base myself in Tuscany, I decided to book wine tours from Florence so that I didn’t have to worry about transportation on my end. Basing myself in Florence as a solo traveler turned out to be the right move, as I returned to a social atmosphere and fun nightlife after a day of luxury in the Tuscan countryside.

While Florence is big on wine with its famous wine windows, it’s also worth venturing outside of the city and into the rolling hills lined with vineyards. There’s nothing like tasting aged Chianti wine right where it’s produced and learning about the winemaking process from the experienced vintners themselves.

As you plan your trip to Florence, consider booking one of the following wine tours from Florence listed below!

From Florence: Chianti Wine Tour With Tasting

This affordable wine tour from Florence was such a fun way to experience the vineyards. Your group will board a bus and be taken to your first stop, where you’ll get an up-close view of the property’s vineyards before walking inside for your tasting.

Once inside, you’ll receive a brief history of the wines and a lesson in tasting etiquette. Even though I’m not a red wine type of girl, I was pleasantly surprised by the light flavor of the red Chianti wine and how easily it went down. Alongside the wine, we were offered light snacks and water.

After the tasting, we had the opportunity to purchase a bottle of wine and explore the property a bit more before boarding the bus for our next destination - a family-owned winery with beautiful surroundings.

We entered a chic tasting room with chandeliers and plates of meats and cheeses as our wine-pairing options. This second winery had a wide variety of wines for us to sample, from darker reds to rosés, and we were instructed through the proper wine and cheese pairing. We even got to sample some aged balsamic vinegar! This tour also gave us the opportunity to purchase wine bottles and ship them home.

After the second wine tasting, we boarded the bus back to Florence, fighting the sleepiness of all the wine we consumed and enjoying the views of the countryside.

This wine tour from Florence was a great way to indulge in some wine and learn more about the history and culture of the region. This is a perfect option for individuals wanting to dip their toes into the Chianti region.

Florence: Tuscany Vespa Wine Tour with Lunch & Wine Tastings

This unique tour combines a few of my favorite things: vespas, wine, and Italian food!

Hop on a Vespa and ride along scenic roads in the heart of Tuscany. If you don't have a driving license or simply lack experience, you can ride as a passenger with one of the guides. With wine involved, you might opt for riding as a passenger anyway.

You’ll have plenty of time to stop for photos along the way, including a visit to the medieval town of San Gimignano, known as the "medieval Manhattan."

After your Vespa ride, you'll arrive at a local winery where you'll indulge in a Tuscan lunch and a wine-tasting class, allowing you to sample local Chianti wines and learn about the winemaking process.

Bonus tip: Couples can share a Vespa and receive a 20-euro discount on this wine tour from Florence!
